Spring Kittens & Dogs photos!

Well, spring is here and that means green grass, new leaves, fruit trees in bloom and kittens! What is spring without a few new babies around?
It seemed like too good an opportunity to pass up, so we had a little photo shoot with the dogs and the kittens, and I'll be sharing the results here shortly. Here's a cute shot of Flash and the kittens to start you off!

The kittens wanted to explore, so they were a little hard to get to stay still enough for pictures! Thankfully, the dogs are trained and they held their down's while we positioned and re-positioned the kitty cats!
Here's Fiona looking bored with all the fuss of photography.

I guess one of the kittens hid from us on this pic... only two here!

Doc at Home: Green in Tennessee!

At 8 weeks, Doc's new papa came out to get him with a pal, and he had all the way back to Tennessee to bond. When he arrived at his new kingdom, he promptly settled in to taking his duties very seriously; that is, playing as much as possible with his two new boys.

He also proceeded to wrap their mother completely around his little pawsies, which she already knew was a foregone conclusion... so everybody was very happy with the process... and the outcome!

He apparently felt it was important to get the correct pecking order right off the bat, so he set to doing that.

Looks to me like he succeeded.

And also found the best seat in the house.

He discovered and laid claim to his own patch of nice green grass in the yard, and had a ball running off with the ball as the boys threw it for him.

But, he had to grow up and become a responsible protector of... well, everything.
And so he did.

Just look at him.

Jake at Home: Arizona livin'!

Jake went home to Arizona, and promptly by-passed his brand new bed to lay on the floor beside the couch. I guess he has an instinct about couches, and knows he wants to establish the right positioning for future movie nights!

Later, he enjoyed the warm air and greening grass of Arizona!

Have a great time with him, Broussards!

Sometimes You Just Gotta Sleep on the Job.

Well, as we all know, life can be exhausting. For anybody!

And it's especially tough being a puppy: all that growing to do and all that playing that must be endured. Tough stuff, here.

So sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do, and some days that means using the legs of an office chair as a pillow and taking a nap.

Phoenix was up in the office for some special time with people to herself, and this became so boring she had to get some sleep in. At first she opted for stretching out between someone's shoes... but then she wiggled deeper and found an arrangement even more to her liking.

I just want to know one thing...
Why can't I get away with sleeping in the office?

Pups and Goats and Staying Warm!

Jake-pup has a warm place, Velvet (the poodle) watches.
Well, we've had a slight onslaught of baby goats arriving, and since it's been pretty snowy and cold out, they get to come in the house to warm up and dry out before heading back to the barn to be with their mamas.

So, we can have a bit of a menagerie going on here!
With all the baby critters in the house, sometimes it gets a little tough to figure out where to put them!

This little newly born, coal-black kid got to spend some time with the pups, who didn't mind a bit, as you can tell.
Jake, the guardian of baby goats.

So after everyone was fed, they all fell asleep in a pile.

 And slept happily ever after.

Flash & Fiona Training Drills

We went out and got some footage of the dogs as I worked through a few of their training routines.
This is a two-dog drill that we did, with Abi taking Fiona and I handling Flash. They may not have done everything perfectly, (sometimes Flash can be a goof!) but their over-all focus was pretty good.
They're a lot of fun to work with!

Meet the Girls!

Here is the girls' post. There are only three of them, so it's not as long!

This little girl is headed for a lifetime of fun with three little girls in Alaska.
she is the largest of the females, and until her people tell us what name she will have, we're calling her "Alaska"!
She'll definitely have a blast in all that snow!

This little lady is "Pheonix", the brownest of the three and probably the middle one, size wise. Though it's a close range between all three girls.

Meet the Boys!

Well, we got week one pics, so I thought I could put them up here, so everyone who's interested could meet the little guys!
(The girls will be next up.)

This is "Jake". He will be going home with a family from Arizona!

This is "Doc". He's going to be heading back to Tennesee to have a ball with two boys!

"Typhoon" will be the proud protector of a loving home in Georgia!

This little fella we're calling "Shield", due to his
spot shape. He's a cutie, and not yet spoken for!

The smallest of the brothers is this little "Plaid" boy, and he's a sweetie for sure! Such an easy going temperament even this early, whoever speaks up for him is going to get a doll of a dog!

(You can meet them all from the Litter page.)
Which has the cutest pic, do you think?

Misty's Pups Are Here!

Misty's puppies are here! They were born the very last day of January, during a cold snap that somehow mysteriously connected to our internet being down for a while... not sure what all that had in common, but the fact remains that the little ones arrived!

They have been ensconced behind the big chairs in the living room, where they stay quite warm and toasty and Misty seems to like her "den" very well.

 There were three little girls...

And five little boys.

They are going great so far! Eating and sleeping, sleeping and eating... the tough life of a puppy!

Puppy Pic ~ Argus at 3 months

Here at True Knight Tervurens the pups grow up in a farm setting with lots of interesting other characters to learn to relate to.  Here little Argus has some face time with one of the dairy does late in the evening.

Puppy Pic ~ Harper T and Frosty

Best buds in the kitchen.
"Harper is a collector as well.  Like a small child, when we walk our daily three miles in the orchard, she picks up random objects (a pecan, a rock, an entire branch) and carries like a trophy, sometimes as much as half a mile.  She is a riot.

I also find that I teach her, and she learns so rapidly, but the lesson must be repeated frequently or she forgets what she's mastered--at least at this age.

She is a wonderful addition to our family.

Thank you."

Thanks, Toni, for keeping us up to date!

Look who's One Whole Year Old!

I just got this super cute e-card from a proud puppy owner, and I have to say, I hadn't realized the time had sped by so fast!

Argus and his siblings are already a year old now. Wow! They're in their gangly teenage stages now!

I have to say that he looks gorgeous!
